Aruna Poduval, MD

Pediatric Endocrinologist

Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology, Dr. Aruna Poduval has over 15 years of experience in pediatric endocrinology. Dr Poduval has wide expertise in the management of pediatric diabetes mellitus (type 1 and 2) including insulin pump therapy, as well as endocrine conditions such as growth disorders, thyroid disorders, disorders of puberty, metabolic syndrome and dyslipidemia. Her basic research focused on the effects of the growth factor (IGF-1/IGFBP3) axis on insulin mediated glucose metabolism. Dr. Poduval has contributed to renowned peer-reviewed journals, and is a member of several professional societies including the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the Endocrine Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Early in her career, she initiated community projects such as G-RAF (Getting Real About Food), that were geared towards the prevention of childhood obesity in a high risk inner city pediatric population. She was an active member of the CHCANYS (Community health care association of NY state) Childhood Obesity Collaborative and her initiative received funding through private grants. Dr. Poduval provides a warm and nurturing approach to caring for children with endocrine disease and diabetes mellitus. She strongly believes in partnering with her patients and their families, thereby empowering them to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Her passion for all things 'sunny' prompted her to move to the valley from NY in 2014. She enjoys traveling with her husband and two children, music and baking.

Brenda Gibbs, CPPM

Physician Practice Manager

Brenda Gibbs has been in practice management since 2014. After earning her BA degree, she started out in supply chain and logistics and eventually worked with UPS for nearly 10 years. However, she found her true calling when she left behind her corporate career and embarked on her medical practice management journey with a private pediatric specialty group. She worked there for a few years before joining Dr. Poduval. Her strengths include her excellent interpersonal and workflow management skills, which enable her to better understand parent and patient needs, thereby executing smooth practice operations with a deep focus on quality-centric patient care.
